A dynamic and down-to-Earth speaker, she’s a pro at helping novices earn their stripes.

She strongly believes in the direct cross-over of art and politics, and uses this dogma in her every-day art practice. She’s done many illustrations and cartoons about gender, sexuality, and sex education. She’s also designed many pamphlets, flyers, and posters for various local organizations.

Throughout Greater Portland, Diamond is organizing and implementing exciting local events. She’s the organizing force behind the Portland Dr. Sketchy’s Anti-Art School, and has been a co-producer of the Portland Femme Show for the past two years.

Diamond graduated from the Maine College of Art with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration. At MECA, she obtained the nickname of “Megaphone” because of her intense involvement in the communities of the school, and Greater Portland. Using illustration as her springboard, Diamond has organized a Voting Education and Registration Drive; put into action a huge Sex Education collaborative project; taught art classes to disadvantaged youth; painted a mural with elementary and high school students at their school; and designed posters and pamphlets for local non-profits.

Stylistically, she has been heavily influenced by cartoonist Alison Bechdel; comic artist Adrian Tomine; cartoonist Roberta Gregory; comic art historian Trina Robbins; and the late printmaker Kathe Kollwitz. Politically, Diamond looks to Kathe Kollwitz, as well as groups such as the Guerilla Girls and subRosa for inspiration as an artist-activist-advocate.

Keep an eye on the bookshelves in August, when Diamond will be published in the up-and-coming “Gender Outlaws: The Next Generation.” In a creative collaboration with queer vaudevillian cohort Johnny Blazes, Diamond’s comics move to the story-telling level to aid in telling Blazes’ story of genderqueeritude and self-discovery.

He also co-hosts the weekly KinkOnTap.com Internet talk show discussing the interconnectedness of sexuality through politics, medical science, news and more. In 2009, he co-founded the all-ages educational KinkForAll series of sexuality unconferences in New York City that has since spread to 5 cities including Washington, DC and San Francisco. An open source programmer by day and a sexual freedom activist by night, Maymay’s passion lies in analyzing the intersection of technology and human sociosexual behavior.

SEATTLE – Sex 2.0 celebrates its third year May 22-23, 2010, in Seattle, Washington, at the Quality Inn. For the first time, the conference is heading to the West Coast and expanding across an entire weekend, attracting local and national influencers, entrepreneurs and enthusiasts who are defining the future of sex and technology.

Sex 2.0 focuses on the intersection of social media, feminism, and sexuality. How is social media enabling people to learn, grow, and connect sexually? How is sexual expression tied to social activism? Does the concept of transparency online offer new opportunities or present new roadblocks — or both? These questions, and many more, are addressed within a safe, welcoming, sex positive space.

Topics this year include building your sex positive presence online, using the internet to connect with people as a sex coach or educator, participatory community organizing for social and sexual freedom, the new sex educators, with panels on new media, sex work, and more.

Featuring certified sexologist and author, Veronica Monet, as the keynote speaker and a discussion leader. Other session leaders include educator, writer, and founder of Cuddle Parties and Show-N-Tell Sex Education, Reid Mihalko of ReidAboutSex.com; executive director of the Center and Foundation for Sex Positive Culture, Allena Gabosch; rope bondage podcaster, author and activist, Graydancer; president of Love U Parties, author, sex educator and activist, Ducky Doolittle; author, high priestess, and founder of Temple of the Red Lotus, Inara de Luna; and many more.

The conference welcomes all sex positive individuals 18+, the GLBTQ, poly, kinky, sex workers, podcasters, eroticists, activists and more. At Sex 2.0, everyone is a participant, rather than a passive attendee, joining conversations rather than listening to presentations. Respecting the confidentiality and protecting the identities of participants who wish to maintain a degree of anonymity is a top priority at Sex 2.0.

Profits will go to the Northwest chapter of the Sex Workers Outreach Project, which is dedicated to the fundamental human rights of sex workers and their communities, focusing on ending violence and stigma through education and advocacy, and to the event producer, the Foundation for Sex Positive Culture.

Advance registration is mandatory, given the relatively sensitive nature of this event. Registration is open and tickets are $50 until May 19 or tickets sell out.

The conference is being held at the Quality Inn at 618 John St., in the heart of Seattle beside the famous Space Needle and Seattle Center. It officially runs from 9 a.m. Saturday to 4 p.m. Sunday, with parties on Friday and Sunday.

Sex 2.0 is being produced and sponsored by Seattle’s Foundation for Sex Positive Culture, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that promotes the many ways sex is beneficial through education, outreach, the arts, advocacy, and research programs that serve the public. For more information, please visit www.foundationforsexpositiveculture.org.

DATE: Wed, Feb 17th
TIME: 7-9:30pm EST
LOCATION: Sexy Spirits, 301 West 55 Street, #4 NYC

Do you wish you had more tricks and know-how when it comes to using your hands on your lovers? Feel confident when it comes to your usual “hand-jive” routine but want to add a few new surprises in your bag of tricks? Perhaps you get good grades from your sex partners when it comes to love making but their genitalia and erogenous zones still mystify you?

In today’s “Insert Tab A into Slot B”-centric culture, Hand Sex is one of the most overlooked and untapped sources of pleasure. And unlike your standard “go-to” sex equipment, God gave most of us two hands with five digits each, which, when you do the math, equals way more than just doubling your pleasure!

Join world renowned sex and relationship educator Reid Mihalko and author of Lesbian Sex Secrets for Men, Amy Jo Goddard, for an entertaining, low pressure and informative workshop on how to make love to men and women using your hands.

In this 2.5-hour workshop, complete with live demonstrations where all you have to do is watch and ask questions, Reid and Amy Jo will cover:

How you can transform your hands into one of your best sexual assets!

Ways to utilize the millions of nerves in your fingers to “listen” to and track your partner’s sexual response so you can access better information and make him or her squeal

Several of Amy Jo’s “best practices” for accessing and stimulating a woman’s erogenous zones

Reid’s best kept secret of Hand Sex: how to use pressure and your own body weight to drive your partner crazy!

How to take the sexual equipment you were born with (and are probably most familiar with) and map out what you already know onto someone else’s plumbing so you don’t have to think!

G-Spot, P-Spot, the Reach Around and the Finger Bang made easy!

Safer Sex hand hygiene so you can go mano y mano with confidence…

Ways to use verbal communication during love-making so that your partners can better relax and leave their pleasure, literally, “in your hands”

You don’t have to go to medical school to have the hands of a surgeon and you don’t have to be born a lesbian to know how to use your hands!

Reid Mihalko and Amy Jo Goddard answer audience questions and get ready for the show and tell portion of the workshop (with a little generous help from their friend!)

Whether you are a man or a woman, and no matter what your age, gender or sexual preference, masterfully making love to another with your hands can be a huge turn-on and self-esteem boost. Not to mention that Hand Sex is one of the best fall-back plans (or savvy, lead-with tactics) to have at the ready when the rest of you is worn out or incapacitated, or you’re just looking to roll up your sleeves and spice things up!

Let your fingers learn how to do the walking and join Reid and Amy Jo for this Rated NC-17 workshop for adults.

Note: This workshop contains explicit and often humorous sex education (Seriously, adult language and sexual demonstrations will be included. We promise!).

Teleclass #4: Feeling Great About Saying No
Communicating Guilt-free Boundaries

With Diana Adams, Esq., Reid Mihalko, and Erotic Educator Dr. Betty Martin

Do you have difficulty in saying no? Wish you were better atenforcing your boundaries? Do you avoid rejecting people and, in doing so, often end up participating in things you’d rather not? Does feeling guilty often influence your decision-making?

Many women feel they can’t say no because they care too much or don’t want to hurt the other person’s feelings. But the inability to say No powerfully is often about fear and insecurity. And while we may know that the most considerate thing we can do is give someone an honest and compassionate No, we struggle and often sellout on ourselves. The results are a wishy-washy Maybe, a lackluster No or, worse, we say Yes when we want to say No.

Join Diana Adams, Esq., Reid Mihalko and their special tele-guest, erotic educator Dr. Betty Martin for 90-minutes designed to get you feeling great about saying no!

In this, the last call of the teleseries, we will teach you how to:

• Get used to saying No when its not life threatening so you

• Use saying No as a self-esteem builder

• Leave the people you say No to feeling seen and appreciated

• Give a stress-free No

• Find your own style and way of saying No

• How to use saying No as a means to getting something youre a Yes to!

If saying No is something you’ve always wanted to master, or you’d love to stop feeling guilty for taking care of yourself, then you definitely don’t want to miss downloading and listening to this MP3!
