Reid’s Projects
Reid works with two demographics: adult men and women who are looking to empower themselves in the area of sex and relationships, and sex educators and “healers” who also work with adults in and around the areas of sex, intimacy and relationships.
In both cases, Reid’s ideas are pragmatic, unique and, at times, unorthodox.
For his workshop offerings for adults, Reid uses a rating system borrowed from the film industry… Workshops Rated-PG and PG-13 are events that, as Reid likes to say, “You can bring your mother to and have a great time.” For his Rated-R workshops (Rated-R because they contain more adult language, sexual themes and, at times, clothed demonstrations), Reid warns that you’ll probably find yourself blushing and wanting to hide if you brought your mom or dad along.
As for his no one under 18 admitted, NC-17 Rated workshops where the focus is often on sexual technique, Reid jokes that you definitely do not want to bring your parents along, but not for the reasons you think. “It’s not because they’ll be offended,” Reid smiles. “You probably won’t want to hear the questions your mom and dad are going to ask me! What daughter or son wants to hear their parents ask personal questions about fellatio and cunnilingus, right?”
Partial nudity, demonstrated sexual situations and frank Q&A’s are the norm at Reid’s NC-17 Rated workshops where participants are invited to pull their chairs up close and watch, take notes and ask as many questions as the time allows. In a country where violence is okay to show on TV, but nudity and sexual acts between consenting adults is not, Reid finds his Rated NC-17 workshops some of his best attended and most impactful. Using his disarming sense of humor, infectious laughter and ease at workshop facilitation to show-and-tell it like it is, Reid makes watching sex to learn about sex seem as normal as hiring Tiger Woods to show you how to improve your drive.
”There are some things, when it comes to sex education, that are better learned when I can show you on an living, breathing, able-to-answer-your-questions human being,” Reid says. “My workshop participants sit and watch and get to ask questions and no one shames them. Imagine that: No shame, no pressure to perform, or fear that you’re ruining the moment by raising your hand. It’s awesome what some adults get out of attending something like this!”
Reid spends much of his time developing and designing his new projects with the intention of bringing these pragmatic perspectives to the public and role modeling that sex doesn’t have to be shameful. With his Professional Series (mentoring, workshops, teleclasses and conferences) designed to empower sex educators and sex-positive professionals, Reid hopes to raise the quality of sex education across America and make sex education more mainstream and, even, chic!
Reid has helped thousands of men and women discover how to be fearless in their romantic relationships, their day-to-day friendships, and in their private, intimate lives. He has also inspired and been inspired by hundreds of his peers and colleagues who are working tirelessly in the trenches of the sex education and sex-positivity movements. With the success of workshops like Cuddle Party, teleclasses like his Day of Jealousy, and now branching off into reality television and film, Reid hopes to one day count the people he has helped and the lives that he has touched in the millions.
